Several years ago, after a comedy performance at the "Oldenburg Brewery" in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky ( when it was an entertainment complex ) I was approached by a woman who wanted me to speak to a group she represented. She wanted me to talk about comedy and how it relieved stress. She represented nurses in West Virginia.

I was fascinated by the possibilities. I researched Norman Cousins, Patch Adams, The Big Apple Clown hospital group and many more humor related organizations.

Humor has always been...  more importantly... laughter, has always been the best medicine.

My studies led me down many paths and to many studies that proved time and time again that  laughter creates in our bodies an amazing mixture of chemical reactions that heal, relieve pain, and regenerate tissues.

So, what to do ?

Well, the speech went  well. But, when it was over, the fascination lingered on. I have tried to make a living making people laugh for nearly 30 years, and here I was learning how laughter was an amazing tool. So, I did research, and more research, and then ... I thought... " Hey, why not help people out ?"

Take comedy to the people that needed it. The hospitalized or infirmed. All people. All ages.

It's not an original thought, but, I thought I had something that a lot of the people in "the field" didn't have.  They were doctors, nurses and lay people.

I'M A PROFESSIONAL COMEDIAN!!

So, I created a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation.  M.I.R.T.H. Inc.  Designed to bring any form of comic entertainment to people that need it most. People that are in pain. Books. Magazines. Movies. Recordings. Live shows. All free to hospitals with training on how to use the materials and create their own programs.

Everything was great. One year after starting the quest to start a non-profit group I had one. I had MIRTH!

BUT... I'M NOT A CORPORATE PERSON !!!

I have all the legalities, though Im sure the info is somewhat dusty. I have the dream. But, why haven't you heard of us ?  Because I don't know how to make it work. Grants ? Income ? And now, even hospitals have less long term patients. But, I am primed. I am waiting. I will continue to try to make it work.

But for now, I am putting it out there. It's on my site. It's on the internet. That law of attraction and working towards it.

Need someone to talk to your organization about humor ? ME !

If you know how to write a grant, let me know.

If you want to be a part, I'm open to suggestions.

It will happen.

I will make it happen.

When the time is right, we will be there.
